CIVITAS ELAN: MOBILISING CITIZENS FOR VITAL CITIES LJUBLJANA – GENT – ZAGREB – BRNO – PORTO

CIVITAS-ELAN was an ambitious project of great strategic importance to its project partners and funding institutions. The ELAN cities are representatives of a growing number of dynamic, mainly medium-sized national or regional centres with a strong cultural background.

Majors of the cities of Ljubljana, Gent, Zagreb, Brno and Porto, have agreed to a joint mission statement “To ‘mobilise’ our citizens by developing with their support clean mobility solutions for agile cities, ensuring health and access for all”. The five cities intend to cooperate based on a clear set of common objectives, based on the principle of “putting the citizen first”. The focus on citizen participation has been deeply built into the work plan; also, several NGOs were part of the project consortium.

ETREL CONTRIBUTION

Etrel’s role in the project was to elaborate studies about measures and actions to be executed by Ljubljana city administration to facilitate deployment of electromobility in Slovenia’s capital.

Within the project, Etrel also developed a draft regulation about deployment of electromobility which was later adopted by the municipality assembly.
