ENGIE Romania Selects Etrel Charge Point Management System to Scale EV Charging Network

Grosuplje, Slovenia – May 24, 2023 – Etrel, a Landis+Gyr company and a leading provider of EV charging solutions, and ENGIE Romania, signed a contract to deploy the Etrel OCEAN charge point & energy management system to ensure scalable charging in the fast-growing EV charging market in Romania with a single solution for residential, business, and public charging.

ENGIE Romania, a provider of e-mobility services and charging station operator, selected the OCEAN charge point management system to ensure a scalable and stable charge point management system to support the upcoming expansion of the Romanian EV charging network. ENGIE Romania is expanding its business from purely public and residential charging to the provision of EV charging solutions for its partners in the fleet, real estate, and retail sectors. Etrel OCEAN offers a comprehensive solution that takes care of all users in the ecosystem, from small charge point operators (sub-operators) to fleet companies. With OCEAN, ENGIE Romania will be able to tailor its back-office and operations to each specific business opportunity according to their partner’s needs, giving them specific access rights and roles to manage and monitor their EV charging infrastructure.

In 2022, the electric car market in Romania recorded an increase of 83.5% compared to 2021, a significant advance compared to the European Union’s average of 28%, according to the ACEA report.
